“Can I keep it?” She looked up longingly at her Uncle Lamb, turning the fragile gold ring around and around with her fingers.
“No, Claire, we’ve talked about this,” he sighed.
“But I found it,” she muttered, petulant.
“Claire,” Uncle Lamb was patient. “Whatever we find on a dig belongs to the people of this culture. It’s not ours to take. What is archaeology again?”
“The study of ancient and recent human past through material remains,” she repeated mechanically. “It is a subfield of anthropology, the study of all human culture.”
“Exactly. Very good, Girl.” Uncle Lamb smiled. “Find a culture that interests you, Claire. Study it. Learn from it.”
vm twitter: why would tessa do a photoshoot for a wedding magazine if she’s not engaged to scott?? why would she fan the flames and shipbait like this?! it just makes no sense!!
ppl with more than one brain cell to rub together:
yes it is v strange
it’s not like tessa hasn’t literally
done this exact thing before
and posed for a bridal magazine
while 100% single
no historical precedence whatsoever
how some of you leave the house without pinning your address to your coats is honestly a mystery to me
