for my friend @borderingonhostility who kindly let me info-dump on her about Person of Interest at any time. Please if you have an autistic friend, don’t ignore them when they talk about their Special Interest because it can be very lonely. Thank you, you lovely asshole. I love you.

↳ This short interview was very touching. You can see that Amy gets us, she gets why Root matters and she cares about that and about us. 2022-07-31 19:55:48

Pearls Before Wine

During a weekend getaway to attend a wedding on the central coast of California, Claire Randall takes a walk on the beach at Lover’s Point. As she wades into the ocean, contemplating the state of her life since her husband died three years before, she notices a wine bottle being carried in by the tide. She would have ignored it, but her name is printed boldly across the label. She retrieves it, turning it in her hands to inspect it thoroughly. A delicate clattering in the glass has her pulling on the cork to examine the life-changing contents awaiting her inside.

THE SUMMER BY THE SEA: Chapter 14, Epilogue

And this wraps up our beach story!

Please leave me a comment and tell me what you think. I live for comments! I know some writers reply to each and every one, but I am not really one of those. I do read all of them and get a big head when it’s full of compliments. We fanfic writers don’t get paid, so I consider the comments and kudos as my payment-in-kind.

From this point on, I will be writing some short stories and one-shots, but I won’t be posting them until I am done. It makes it way easier to write it all at once when I can, then edit it altogether so I catch my goofs (like the one in the previous chapter). I would eventually like to try my hand at an original story (it isn’t a love story) with hopes that I might be able to publish it. One can dream, eh? Funny that, since the story idea came to me as a dream. I woke up and wrote it all down in detail and I can’t wait to put it in words.

Anyway, thank you so much for reading, commenting and leaving kudos on all my work. I can’t tell you what it means to me to see folks still reading and commenting on my older work. It makes my day always begin with a smile when I read my notifications.

Fast forward 40 years

“Mama, come in here!  We have a surprise for you!” Bree shouted from the living room.

Claire wiped her hands on a dish towel and walked into the adjoining living room to find Jamie sitting on the couch, the kids standing excitedly in front of him.

“Do you know what your children are up to?” Jamie questioned.

“I have no idea,” she said, sitting by her husband.

Just What the Doctor Ordered – A Downhill Ficlet

A/N: Here we FINALLY are.
Not so much a celebratory anniversary ficlet anymore, but I still hope y’all will enjoy. It took me forever to put together, but I do love how it turned out.

Prepare for some (hopefully) sexy times!

This ficlet has not been beta’d, so please excuse any errors that might have slipped through my vigorous editing.

[gifted this time to 2 of my longest-running and most loyal of readers–I appreciate you so much <3]

A Downhill Ficlet – Just What the Doctor Ordered

Whisky eyes followed the brand-new minivan’s license plate as it went past the stone arch and down the alder-framed driveway. Even after it was well out of view, Claire lingered at the topmost window. Only when she was confident that Brian and her sons wouldn’t be stomping back up the flagstone steps any time soon, did she grab her phone and sent off a text. Innocent enough to look at, that message set a plan into motion that had begun to form the instant she realised she’d have the family estate to herself.

One hand resting atop the still-small but steadily expanding bump of her belly, Claire’s other toyed with a brontosaurus-shaped paperweight. The latest addition to Ellis’s ventures into non-dangerous handicrafts was a particularly violent shade of green, ornamented with googly eyes that made her smile every time she caught a glimpse of it sitting at her desk. Fingertips moving restlessly along its lumpy spine, she fixated on the grandfather clock across the room. One, two, three, four .

Any minute now.
