Jamie is a small-time thief with a complicated relationship with his mother and sister. Living hand to mouth, Jamie struggles to keep them all afloat, and has resorted to theft to keep them in their homes. Until he meets Claire Beauchamp, an apparent runaway who works at the diner he frequents when he’s got money to burn. She’s mysterious, enthralling, and unwilling to trust nearly anyone. Finding a way into her heart, Jamie and Claire soon form a bond, one that has Jamie willing to turn his life around. Unfortunately, his past comes back to bite him, and he and Claire continue to hold secrets near to their hearts – secrets that threaten their tenuous existence in a bustling, unforgiving city.
