It has been over a year. I’ve not updated this story since September of 2021. It seems criminal, and I am so, so sorry. But I hope the payoff will be worth the wait in the end.
So, here we go, folks. I really, truly hope that this update does not disappoint. Though, it might. But hold on, because I’m hoping to have Chapter 20 up as soon as I can since this one kind of ends abruptly…
If you need a refresher: Claire, Jamie, Emily and Dougal are still cooped up at Dougal’s house. It’s been a month since they found Angus dead by the lake, and in this chapter they have just heard some bad news via the radio, and Claire is, uh, not okay.
Thanks for the patience and understanding as I struggle to keep my shit together enough to update all my stories, even though it may be a long time between updates!
“How very paltry and limited the normal human intellect is, and how little lucidity there is in the human consciousness, may be judged from the fact that, despite the ephemeral brevity of human life, the uncertainty of our existence and the countless enigmas which press upon us from all sides, everyone does not continually and ceaselessly philosophize, but that only the rarest of exceptions do.”
